Dr. David J. Ndegwah, PhD, was born and raised in Kitale, western Kenya, in East Africa, where he lived all his life and then moved to Ongata Rongai, near Nairobi (the capital city of Kenya) for higher education. After graduation he taught in different universities and colleges for 23 years. He is an ardent scholar, and a prolific writer, in the areas of theology and philosophy of development in Africa, hermeneutics and critical thinking. He has authored many peer-reviewed articles, conference proceedings and academic books. He got into the care industry by a stroke of chance in 2020 at the height of COVID-19 when he found himself at Tenwek Hospital (in Bomet County, Kenya) where his father had been admitted with prostate cancer; and he had to take of him as well as other patients who were not accompanied by their guardians. In 2021 he relocated to USA as an exchange scholar with his family, and decided to stay on after the tour of duty. When he discovered Agape In Home Care, it was a reminiscence of the care he gave to his own father and other patients in Kenya. The company founders noticed his professional work ethics, strong moral character and passionate dedication to his clients, and promoted his to the role of a training manager, where he mentors and accompanies new Care Professionals, as well as assessing new clients for intake.
